Internist
Dr. Baldo completed is MD and PhD at McGill University. His research focused on the regulation of lipid handling and metabolism in the context of atherosclerotic disease. He was also the executive editor of the McGill Journal of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency training at McMaster University in Hamilton. Dr. Baldo completed a fellowship in general internal medicine with a main focus in the field of venous thrombosis at the University of Ottawa.
Dr. Baldo balances his practice between outpatient investigation, management and risk factor modification of cardiovascular disease and inpatient critical care at the Montfort Hospital. He is the medical director of the intensive care unit (ICU) at Montfort Hospital. Dr. Baldo is also active in the field of thrombosis with a keen interest in the management of primary veno-thromboembolic disease and the work-up of thrombophilias.
Outside of medicine Dr. Baldo is a true adventure enthusiast. He regularly undertakes expedition style trekking, mountain biking and extreme altitude mountaineering trips to remote areas of the globe.
