About the OCC

History

The Ottawa Cardiovascular Centre was founded in 1986 by Dr. Joel Niznick and Dr. Brendan Quinn. We were originally situated in the Kilborn Medical Centre at Bank and Kilborn known as Kilborn Cardiology Consultants. The practice relocated to its current location in 1992 and the name of the practice was changed to the Ottawa Cardiovascular Centre January 1, 2000 to reflect our broader mission.

Our practice has always reflected our mission to provide rapid access to cardiovascular diagnosis, treatment and in particular prevention. Our focus as well as to provide comprehensive continuing care is to ensure implementation of the latest evidence based advances in cardiovascular medicine to all our patients. Over the years we have expanded our services and our administrative and technical staff to support an expanding demand for our model of clinical service delivery.

We appreciate the support and acknowledgment of our referring physicians with whom we endeavor to partner to improve the wellbeing of our mutual patients.
